Outside Reviews Help Charities Reach More Donors?

The Chronicle of Philanthropy recently ran an article entitled “Outside Reviews Help Charities Reach More Donors: As the economy improves, more groups are hiring consultants to help them learn new approaches.”  The article explained the benefits of having an outside group take a critical look at an organization’s fundraising operations.  While I may not be the most objective writer, as I am a consultant, It has been my experience that “an outside set of eyes” really bring a new perspective that helps an organization improve and grow.

What has been your experience with outside, groups, consultants etc. providing critiques of your fundraising methods and programs?
